A field hockey player from Australia has been arrested by the police, suspected of having bought cocaine in central Paris during the ongoing Olympic Games.
The player had about one gram of cocaine on him when he was arrested. The Australian Olympic Committee (AOC) confirms that a player in the national field hockey team is being detained after being arrested on Tuesday.
"No charges have been presented. The AOC continues to request details in the case and is trying to arrange support for the team member", says the country's Olympic Committee.
The drug dealer, a 17-year-old, was also arrested with several different types of drugs on him.
Australia's national field hockey team was eliminated in the Olympic quarterfinals on Sunday against the Netherlands.
