Gondomar presented the season's jerseys over the weekend, where the brothers' faces are clearly visible, and writes in a statement on social media that they are entering the season "with their heart full of memories and emotions".

They describe the brothers as "two sons of Gondomar who left us too early, but who will live forever in our club's and our football's history."

Jota's club Liverpool has also honored the Portuguese by retiring the number 20 for all eternity.

Jota's former teammate James Milner, now in Brighton, will honor his friend by switching to number 20.

It will be an honor to wear his number this season, says Milner.
