A 35-year-old man is sentenced to nine years in prison for attempted murder, reports Göteborgs-Posten.
The incident occurred outdoors in central Gothenburg last summer, when the man stabbed another man in connection with a drug deal. The victim received several stab wounds on the open street, but was able to make it to a nearby square where he received help.
The perpetrator is previously unconvicted and was identified with the help of surveillance cameras when he withdrew money prior to the drug purchase. Through card information, he was arrested at his home in Småland after a few weeks.
In addition to the prison sentence, the 35-year-old will have to pay damages of 283,000 kronor.
