One of the police officers who stopped Hill when he was driving his car towards the stadium was taken out of regular duty after the incident and has since been assigned administrative tasks.
Video footage from the police officers' body cameras shows, among other things, that Hill does not follow the police's instruction to roll down the window completely, just after the 30-year-old handed over his driver's license.
After an exchange of words, Hill is asked to get out of the car, but is instead dragged out and handcuffed on the ground.
The NFL player is charged with reckless driving and not wearing a seatbelt, according to news agency AP.
He was released at the scene and scored a touchdown when Miami beat Jacksonville in the premiere. Hill celebrated by putting his arms behind his back and letting a teammate "put on" handcuffs.
