Overall, growth will be dampened due to the adjusted rules, says Mattias Bergman at Mobility Sweden to the radio.
The new EU rules concern how to conduct tests to measure carbon dioxide emissions from plug-in hybrids.
This can affect both the malus tax, the reduced benefit value, and the level of public and private procurement that companies set.
The rules are introduced in two stages and apply to plug-in hybrids, i.e. cars that can run on both electricity and petrol or diesel.
From 2025, it will apply to all new cars, and from 2026, all plug-in hybrids.
The new rules are being introduced because plug-in hybrids are not driven as much on electricity as previously thought, according to Mattias Bergman.
