The background is the Government Offices' handling of the incident in March 2023, when the then security adviser Henrik Landerholm forgot confidential documents at a conference center. They were later found by staff, but the Government Offices chose not to report the matter.
We wonder what it depends on and if it can be that the decision has been influenced by the Prime Minister's and Landerholm's private relationship, says Emma Berginger (Green Party), defense policy spokesperson.
If Henrik Landerholm has been protected in any way by the Government Offices, the Prime Minister's staff or for that matter by the Prime Minister himself.
The incident at the conference center is now being investigated by prosecutors and Landerholm left his post on Monday.
The Left Party and the Center Party have also submitted parliamentary ombudsman complaints against the Prime Minister in the matter. They concern how long it took before documents became public and the forgotten documents at the conference center. Berginger believes it is positive if the matter is examined from different perspectives.
We think there is reason for the Constitutional Committee to investigate whether the Prime Minister has violated the requirements of the Instrument of Government for objectivity and impartiality.
