Norrköping has been hit by arson attacks since Thursday. On Thursday evening, a fire broke out in a stairwell of a multi-family house after flammable liquid was thrown on a residential door and ignited.
The same thing happened the following evening at another address in Norrköping. The two fires have connections to the gang environment, according to the police.
During the night towards Sunday, at 04.28, the police were alerted about a fire at a car dealership. Flammable liquid was poured on the entrance.
Luckily, it didn't spread, says Mats Pettersson.
The incident is being investigated as aggravated arson. Half an hour later, the next alarm about a fire came in. A number of drums with flammable liquid were then burning near a property.
There are concerns that they had planned something else. That's why the legal situation is preparation for aggravated arson, says Pettersson.
No one was injured in the incidents. There is still no suspected or arrested perpetrator, and the motive is not clear.
We are naturally looking into whether these two fires are connected in some way. It's a bit too early to say yet, says Pettersson.
It is not clear whether there is a connection between all four fires.
