The basketball club Philadelphia 76ers' star player Joel Embiid is being investigated by the basketball league NBA regarding allegations that he confronted and pushed a columnist for the newspaper Philadelphia Inquirer.
Embiid, who has not yet played any matches for Philadelphia this season, allegedly got into a fight with the journalist after Philadelphia's match against Memphis. The background is said to be a column where the basketball player's brother, as well as Embiid's son, was mentioned. The brother died in a traffic accident the same year Embiid started playing for Philadelphia.
According to a spokesperson for the NBA, the league is now aware of the incident and has launched an investigation.
