Leroy Carter was selected for New Zealand's rugby national team. Then his dog ate the passport before departure. It was a bit of chaos, he says.

Leroy Carter had as a goal to take a place in All Blacks, which is the nickname of New Zealand's rugby national team. But it was not until there was a cancellation that Carter was called up to a tournament in Argentina. Then the nightmare began.

Carter took a picture of the passport and sent it to the national team management. For New Zealand media, he tells what happened next:

I put the passport on my bedside table. My partner then went to the gym and left the dog alone at home. The dog jumped up into the bed and chewed up the passport and my dental retainers.

Preparations became chaos for the 26-year-old who had to pick up an emergency passport in Auckland before he travels to Buenos Aires on Friday. New Zealand's premiere match is against Argentina on August 16.
