Thirsty runners got an unpleasant surprise at the first hydration check during the Stockholm Marathon: the water didn't suffice in the 26-degree heat.
Staff on site are working to resolve the issue. There are a total of 17 hydration stations placed along the course and Nesi says he hasn't heard that the others have had the same problem.
Water is especially important during the year's run. According to SMHI, it is 26 degrees according to central Stockholm's weather stations.
According to the forecast, it is expected to rain during the course of the run, but for now, the precipitation is far away. If it rains, it will be late in the afternoon, says Fougman.
About two weeks ago, over 40 people collapsed under similar conditions during Göteborgsvarvet. A man in his early twenties died.
