Malmö FF Bounces Back with 4-0 Victory Over Halmstad After Copenhagen Loss

There has been a storm around the all-Swedish football Malmö FF after the 0-5 loss to FC Copenhagen in the Champions League qualifier. During Saturday, they played their first match since the crash and then the sky blues were back with a vengeance. Halmstads BK was run over on the away ground with a whole 4-0 and MFF is now up to a third place in allsvenskan. This is a new start, said the goal scorer Daniel Gudjohnsen to Max.

Malmö suffered a significant loss to FCK earlier in the week and after the match, there has been speculation about whether coach Henrik Rydström will get fired.

Perhaps the speculation will be calmed somewhat now after the, for the day rose-clad, MFF responded with an own demolition.

Already at halftime, the match felt decided when the referee blew for rest with the score 3–0 in favor of the Scania team.

A quarter of an hour into the match, the Icelander Daniel Gudjohnsen opened the goal scoring with a powerful header after a perfectly struck corner from Otto Rosengren.

It was an important win for both me and the team. It has been a tough week but today we showed that no matter what happens, we stand together and come back, says Gudjohnsen.

20 minutes later, the same Otto Rosengren struck in a new corner that, via a rebound, reached Colin Rösler, who headed in 2–0.

We already knew that what we did (against Copenhagen) was not good enough. For us, for the fans, for everyone who is part of MFF. We all knew what we should do now, stick together and keep going, continued Gudjohnsen.

When Rosengren then, ten minutes into the second half, curled in yet another corner in Halmstad's penalty area, the former HBK player Sead Haksabanovic stayed up front and established the final result to 4–0.
