The 35-year-old man who was shot in Åkersberga north of Stockholm on Wednesday night was attacked in his home. Prosecutor Peter Claeson confirms to TT that several perpetrators broke into the 35-year-old's home, as reported by TV4 News.

That's our understanding, yes.

In connection with the police operation, a man suspected of attempted murder and serious weapons offenses was arrested and later detained. No other individuals have been arrested at present.

The man who was shot was awake when he was taken to hospital by ambulance helicopter.

It is currently unclear whether the man was the intended target.

But it's impossible to say for certain. You don't know what motive the shooter had, says Claeson.
