A man in his 50s was found shot during the night leading up to Thursday in Laholm.
We received an alarm at midnight that shots had been heard at a location in Laholm, and when we arrived, the man was found injured by gunfire, says Anders Wennergren, officer on duty at the police.
The man was conscious when he was taken to hospital. He is now being treated for serious injuries, according to Region Halland for TT.
During the night, the police carried out a large operation and searched an area with a helicopter, writes Hallandsposten.
No one had been arrested or suspected in the case, which is classified as attempted murder, by 7 am.
