According to Malmö district court, it is proven that the man fired 21 shots with an automatic carbine, of which six bullets hit the victim.
There is nothing to suggest that he knew the victim beforehand, but has acted on behalf of another person. The man, who is now 19 years old, denies the crime.
"It has been a matter of a planned and unprovoked attack on a person who was lured to the location and who in the situation was defenseless," says judge Daniel Svensson in a press release.
One of the shots went straight through a window to an apartment nearby. A person who was in the apartment was close to being hit, but did not suffer physical harm.
The man is also convicted of endangering others and serious weapons offenses. Furthermore, he shall pay damages to the victim's close relatives.
Public prosecutor Lisa Åberg has previously described the murder as "execution-like" and "brutal", among other things, with reference to the fact that the murder occurred in the middle of the day in a densely populated area.
Another younger man in his 20s is charged with the murder. The man was not at the crime scene, but according to Åberg, he was so involved in the planning and execution of the murder that he is also considered to be the perpetrator. That verdict will be announced at a later time.
