The man was in his 25-year-old and the accident occurred during a welding work. He was taken to hospital by ambulance helicopter, but his life could not be saved.

We do not know at present what happened or why. That's what we're working intensively to try to figure out now, says Johanna Blavier, press chief at Forsmark, to TT.

The incident is being investigated as a work environment crime and causing bodily harm.

We are assisting the police and the Work Environment Authority in their work, following the development and letting them work in peace and quiet, so we'll see what it leads to. We have also initiated our own internal investigation to get answers to the questions we have about the incident.

Several staff members witnessed the accident and tried to help the man, and a crisis center will be on site all week.

This is an extremely tragic event, and I cannot describe how sad I am. My thoughts go to the closest relatives of this colleague and his colleagues, says Blavier.
