A 58-year-old man is being prosecuted for stabbing a woman to death with a knife in Kungälv in February this year, reports GP.
The man himself alerted the police during the night of February 11, stating that he had stabbed the woman in the back and chest in the apartment where they were both registered.
On the scene, she was found dead, and the man was immediately arrested. He has also later admitted to inflicting the stab wounds.
He, and no one else, has injured her to such an extent that it led to her death, says his lawyer Leif Almquist to GP.
The man admits to manslaughter, but not murder.
There are reports that there was violence in the relationship prior to the incident. The indictment also reveals that the woman had previously stated that she was afraid of the man and that she had been in contact with a women's shelter offering protected housing and support for women exposed to violence.
