In Dalarna, several typhoons that belong to the alarm system "Hesa Fredrik" have been stolen, reports Dala-Demokraten.

The thefts have occurred during the spring and summer. According to SVT News Dalarna, it involves four tutors in Borlänge and two in Ludvika.

I have been in the industry for 40 years – and maybe I recall a single tutor that disappeared, but never to this extent, says Per-Anders Berthlin, area manager at the rescue service Dala Mitt, to SVT.

The motive for the thefts is still unclear. The rescue service and the Swedish Agency for Support and Preparedness are now discussing how the typhoons can be made more difficult to steal.

To Dala-Demokraten, Per-Anders Berthlin says that the thefts – although they are serious – do not risk knocking out the entire system, since VMA (important message to the public) also goes out via TV, text TV and radio.
