The man is suspected of having received the assignments via an encrypted messaging service.
"The investigation has not shown that the accused man is part of any criminal network. The claim is instead that he is a hired perpetrator who has undertaken to commit the current acts in exchange for promises of compensation", says prosecutor Jacob Hallberg in a press release.
The man was arrested in Stockholm, after being suspected of a shooting at a villa in Alafors north of Gothenburg on May 21.
However, material was also found on his mobile phone that made him suspected of a number of other violent crimes last spring.
These include an explosion at an apartment building in Vasastaden in Gothenburg on April 18 and a shooting at an industrial premises in Kungälv the same night, a shooting at an apartment building in Lindome on May 24 and another shooting in Lindome on June 2.
During the latter shooting, the police found a horse that had been shot several times. The horse was taken to an animal hospital and survived.
The man is now being prosecuted for, among other things, attempted murder, serious weapons offenses and serious public endangerment. There are a total of 39 plaintiffs in the five cases covered by the prosecution.
The man has confessed to the explosion in Vasastaden, but denies the other crimes.
