The man was arrested during an operation in Nyköping. He was detained for gross unlawful threats, but was later released.
The state of the investigation is such that the suspect cannot hinder the investigation while on the loose. But he is still suspected, says prosecutor Mats Ljungqvist at the National Security Unit, to TV4 News.
The central government leadership includes, among others, the king, the prime minister, and members of parliament. The prosecutor does not want to comment on who the threat was directed against.
There are circumstances in this case that make it assessed as a gross unlawful threat. It takes a lot for it to be classified as gross, but what it more specifically consists of, I cannot go into.
