A man in his 30s is being treated in hospital with serious injuries after being shot in central Helsingborg late on Saturday evening.

A police patrol was in the vicinity and heard some kind of noise, which they perceived as shots. So then they went to the scene, says police spokesperson Fredrik Bratt.

In connection with the crime scene, a man in his 40s was arrested. He was later detained, suspected of attempted murder according to the police. A large area was cordoned off during the night.

We have held witness interviews and examined the scene where the crime took place. We are also examining possible surveillance cameras in the area, says Fredrik Bratt.
