A lightning strike knocked out the beer production at Åbro Bryggeri in Vimmerby last week and 20,000 liters of wort leaked into the sewer, reports P4 Kalmar.
Industries are sensitive to lightning strikes, says Håkan Einarsson, quality manager at Åbro, to the radio channel.
The discharge caused no damage to the environment but means a significant loss for the brewery since wort is an important ingredient in beer production.
It's malt that we have purchased and that costs money. This is not fun either for our costs or for the environment, says Håkan Einarsson.
