Helicopters from MSB (The Agency for Community Protection and Preparedness) and aircraft from several counties that water-bombed the fire are still present to continue the extinguishing work.
The large amounts of rain that were expected in the area fell during Friday.
But unfortunately, it did not fall in the right places, says Ulf Gille, rescue operator at Rescue Cooperation North, to TT.
Fire aircraft are now also searching for some smaller ongoing fires along the coast around Boden and Överkalix, fires caused by lightning, as well as hundreds of forest fires in the northern part of the country in recent times.
What caused the fire in Jokkmokk is, however, still unclear, according to Ulf Gille, who does not know when they will get the fire under control.
We will work on it for the next few days before we expect to be finished, he says.
