SMHI warns of torrential rain and thunderstorms in parts of Norrland during the coming days.

A yellow warning has been issued for parts of Jämtland, Västernorrland and Västerbotten throughout Sunday until 21:00 in the evening. There, heavy showers are expected, which can give up to 50 millimeters of rain in a short time, with a risk of flooding and traffic problems. Local thunderstorms can also occur, writes SMHI on its website.

The local variations are large and the showers are believed to mainly affect the western part of central Norrland in the evening.

Tomorrow will also be unstable in the north. In the southern and central Lapplandsfjällen, a warning has been issued for cloudbursts during the night until Monday, with up to 70 millimeters of rain.

For Monday, a yellow warning has been issued for thunderstorms and rain showers in parts of Västernorrland, Västerbotten and Norrbotten counties. A similar warning has also been issued for parts of eastern Norrbotten, which applies from morning to late evening.

Sunday and Monday, gale is also expected in Skagerrak, with strong gusts and heavy sea. SMHI urges the public to consider whether it is advisable to go out to sea.
