The crime was committed in Gällivare last year and according to the district court, the child has provided "detailed and coherent stories" that do not contain "contradictions or inexplicable elements".
The man has stated during the interrogation that he was not aware of the child's age - something that the district court dismisses as unlikely since the man had known the child for several years.
In addition to the child's story, the child's injuries, as a consequence of the assault, were also part of the evidence.
The man claimed that he was asleep when he had sex with the child and believed that he was having sex with his girlfriend - a story he later changed, which is why the district court finds the man's story less likely.
