The investigation is based on tens of thousands of documents found in connection with a review of both paper documents and microfilms, according to a press release from the Senate.
The committee claims that Credit Suisse, which is now part of the investment bank UBS, has withheld these documents from previous investigations. Among these is an investigation that in 1998 resulted in an agreement where they agreed to pay approximately 13 billion kronor to Holocaust survivors who sued the bank.
UBS says in a comment to AFP that they are prepared to provide a complete register of all Nazi-related accounts from the banks that would later become part of Credit Suisse.
