Mysterious beings and fantastic adventures.
The summer exhibition about Astrid Lindgren, created especially for Sofiero Castle, will allow visitors to get to know the author and at the same time awaken their own imagination.
Cushions on the floor and stars on the ceiling – in a darkened room, visitors can sit down for a moment and listen to stories read by Astrid's voice. There is an opportunity to create your own stories with pictures or go out to Sofiero Castle's park in Helsingborg and find magical portals in the lush greenery.
One section is dedicated to all the mysterious beings that exist in the world of sagas.
The exhibition "Astrid Lindgren – Landscapes of Fantasy" takes off from "Mio min Mio", which turns 70 this year. The story about the lonely boy Bosse who leaves Sweden and ends up in the Faraway Land with the task of defeating the evil knight Kato will come to life at Sofiero Castle.
The visitor – big or small – enters a magical and sometimes slightly suggestive world that, via the well-known saga, will awaken our own imagination.
Newly renovated Sofiero Castle shows the exhibition, created especially for the castle, until the end of September. It will also be shown at the museum at Astrid's childhood home Näs in Småland later on.
It is through the saga that we will get to know Astrid Lindgren again. What would the author herself have thought of such an approach?
She would probably have been amazed, believes Astrid's grandchild Malin Billing, who has seen the exhibition before it opens.
