For Marcus Ericsson, the end was a much more disappointing story. The Swede was doing well for a long time, but got engine problems in the 150th lap and was forced to retire.
We had the car and the speed to win this. It just didn't go our way, said Ericsson after the race.
The winner was American Josef Newgarden and he has thus won the title in Madison five times.
