It was during the match between Dallas Wings and New York Liberty in WNBA that a 32-year-old man is alleged to have thrown a sex toy and hit a 12-year-old girl. He has now been charged with two cases of assault.
The man denies the crime and his lawyer describes the charge as "exaggerated and inflated".
The incident comes after it has become a kind of trend to throw sex toys during WNBA matches. Previously, an 18-year-old and a 23-year-old have been arrested for throwing sex toys during matches.
