Ludvig Åberg comes from a first successful year as a golf pro. And now he is being rewarded for his success. The world's fifth-best player has been named the golfer of the year for the second year in a row.
"Super cool to receive the prize again, and I'm really honored since I know that there are many good players in Sweden who have performed well", he says in a press release.
The prize is awarded by a jury consisting of the Svensk Golf editorial staff, as well as representatives from the Association of Golf Journalists, SGF, and PGA.
"Ludvig Åberg's first full season as a pro offers many strong performances, where his efforts in The Masters and US Open, where he was in sole lead after the second round, stand out a bit extra", says Erik Franzén, editor-in-chief of Svensk Golf and chairman of the jury.
