In early October, Maria Malmer Stenergard was attacked by activists who threw a bag of tomatoes and onions at her during an interpellation debate regarding Sweden's abstention in the UN vote on Israel and the West Bank. She ran out of the chamber and the debate was interrupted.

We have been extremely clear from the government's side to the parliament that it is completely unacceptable that the safety of a minister cannot be guaranteed inside the chamber, says Ulf Kristersson.

We expect them to do something about it.

He leaves it to the parliament to organize how the security work should be changed.

But it's a discussion that's ongoing in the group leader circle, which many have taken very seriously.

I expect powerful efforts.
