A federal judge has decided that the Trump administration must temporarily lift its ban on foreign aid.
The judge in the case, Amir Ali, points in his decision that the administration has referred to the need to review individual aid programs to determine whether they should be discontinued or not.
According to Ali, however, government representatives have not provided any explanation as to why a general ban constitutes a reasonable prerequisite for reviewing the programs.
The judge's decision means that payments for aid agreements entered into before Trump's inauguration on January 20 can continue.
