The Palestinian flag was unfolded on the Parc de Princes stands during the football match in the OS between Mali and Israel.

This made several Israeli supporters angry, and security guards were forced to intervene and calm down the atmosphere.

We have more security guards ready to intervene if it worsens. The atmosphere is hostile, but hopefully it will calm down, says the arena's ticket manager, Arnaud Reyre, to Aftonbladet.

He also says that they will not confiscate the flags since Palestine has active participants in the summer's OS and the flags are allowed.

During Israel's national anthem before the match, loud boos were heard, according to AP.

The Israeli national team arrived at the arena with a police escort, and there were 1,000 police officers placed around the area at Parc de Princes.

Mali–Israel ended 1–1.
