Households are borrowing more for consumption

The total lending to Swedish households increased by 1.6 percent in November, compared to the same month the previous year. This is shown by figures from SCB.

Mortgage loans increased by 1.3 percent, while consumer loans increased by 6.7 percent. In October, consumer loans were at 4.9 percent.

Mortgage loans account for 83 percent of the total lending to households.
