Hockey One's qualifying series is being abolished. The league announces this on its website.
In the spring, the teams competing to advance to Hockey Allsvenskan will instead compete in a straight playoff tree where the match series are played in best of five.
Primarily for economic reasons, the playoffs are divided into two parts, southern and northern with eight teams in each playoff tree.
The winners from the southern and northern playoffs will then meet in a final series in best of five matches where the winner advances to Hockey Allsvenskan.
Hockey One writes on its website that the decision was approved over the weekend after discussions between the league and the clubs.
