When Frölunda launched its women's initiative before the 2022–2023 season – in Division 1 – Andrea Dalen was one of the already established stars who signed on.
When that season started, she then became Frölunda's first goal scorer ever. So who else would contribute with two goals when the club secured the SM gold three seasons later?
It's incredibly fun. I had a tough start to the season, but to succeed in turning it around, making an incredibly good second half and then delivering in the playoffs and final... It's so incredibly fun to do it together with these girls, says the Norwegian.
Andrea Dalen started by scoring the 1–1 goal in Sunday's match against Luleå, assisted by teammates Michelle Karvinen and Hanna Olsson.
Then came the important 2–1 goal – just nine seconds into the second period, after Frölunda won the face-off and Dalen found an opportunity from a poor angle along the right boards.
That laid the foundation for Sunday's 3–2 win – and for Frölunda to secure the SM gold via three straight matches against Luleå.
We expected a tough series. And it has been a tough series, it has been extremely even matches. But we managed to find a way to win, she says.
The SM gold was secured in front of nearly 8,500 spectators at home in Scandinavium.
It's so incredibly fun and cool with the audience today. There's nothing better than deciding at home with these fans.
