Baz Luhrmann is to direct a new film about France's national heroine Joan of Arc, writes Deadline.
The Australian director, whose previous film "Elvis" grossed nearly 300 million dollars and was nominated for eight Oscars, and his collaborators will now find the future lead actress.
The Bond girl Joan of Arc believed she had a heavenly mission to unite her homeland and led the French troops to victories during the Hundred Years' War against England.
