Öberg is ill and therefore misses the weekend's competitions, which consist of a short distance on Saturday and a sprint on Sunday.
"I have long been looking forward to starting the season this weekend, but unfortunately I have caught a cold and am forced to abstain", she writes on Instagram, and continues:
"Hope to be back on my feet soon and wish all competitors good luck."
The Swedish premiere is the first time this season that biathlon stars can measure themselves against each other on snow, and usually both Swedish elite and international skiers come to the start.
The biathlon season then gets underway in earnest with the World Cup premiere in Finnish Kontiolahti on November 30-December 8.
