Two former Left Party members are starting a new party: Solidarity. They write this in a debate article in Expressen.
Björn Alling, former municipal politician in Linköping, and Jeanette Escanilla, former Member of Parliament for the Left Party, believe that the Left Party has "abandoned the red socialist vision".
Solidarity demands, among other things, an immediate stop to what they describe as "genocide" against Palestinians.
"We support a one-state solution where all people in Palestine, regardless of religion or ethnicity, have the same rights. We view today's Israel as an apartheid state and demand that the world's countries intervene to put an end to the occupation", they write.
Björn Alling was expelled from the party almost a year ago. The reason was "gross harassment" that had been going on for many years, according to the Left Party.
Escanilla left the party in June this year, along with about 20 others. They believed that the party had "been centralized in the hands of a small clique of friends", and that critical voices were being silenced.
