A block of flats was shot at in Hökarängen in southern Stockholm on Wednesday evening.
A comprehensive hunt for the perpetrators began, and the police fired warning shots during a control in nearby Bandhagen.
We have initiated a preliminary investigation into aggravated weapons offences after establishing that there are bullet holes in a block of flats in the area, says Daniel Wikdahl, the police's press spokesperson.
No one was injured. However, several people were seen fleeing the scene, and a large police operation was launched, involving multiple patrols, a helicopter, and dogs.
During the operation, the police fired warning shots during a control of a person.
We were going to carry out a control in Bandhagen of a person who was behaving suspiciously. Then a warning shot was fired. After that, the police gained control of the person, who was arrested, says Wikdahl.
He later adds that the person has been released and is not believed to have had anything to do with the incident in Hökarängen.
The underground station in Hökarängen was closed while the police searched for the perpetrators. By 10 pm, Storstockholms Lokaltrafik announced that trains were stopping at the station again.
The area around the block of flats is cordoned off, and a technical investigation is to be carried out.
