Two Japanese tourists have been arrested at the Great Wall of China and quickly deported from China. One of them had pulled down his pants and posed with his bare buttocks.

The two Japanese, a man and a woman in their 20s, visited a part of the wall near Beijing on January 3. The man pulled down his pants and posed with his bare buttocks and the woman took pictures with a camera.

The couple was caught in the act by a guard and were then detained for two weeks, report media in China and Japan.

It is illegal to expose the lower part of the body in public in China. The news also sparks resentment among many Chinese due to Japan's occupation of parts of China during the 1930s and 40s.

Tens of millions of Chinese have taken part in the information through the country's tightly controlled social media, where many also write derogatory comments about Japanese in general.
