The World Championship in Malmö in December will be the last for the national team captains in floorball, Thomas Brottman and Niklas Nordén.
They began their leadership of the men's national team in 2021 and took gold directly. It was also gold in the World Championship the following year. Now they will try to bring home a third World Championship title.
The Floorball Federation usually makes decisions on national team leadership after the championships.
"Niklas and Thomas wished for a decision before the World Championship instead of waiting until the tournament was completed. We respect and have full understanding of their wish, which is why we expedited the process", says Joakim Lindström, head of sports development, in a press release.
After the World Championship in Malmö, which takes place on December 7-15, the recruitment work for a new leadership team will begin, with the ambition of having it in place for the national team matches in June.
