Germany's plans to halve its financial support to Ukraine appear to be progressing, report German media. The German government instead hopes for support via frozen Russian assets, a planned solution that the G7 countries have agreed on.
After leaked budget drafts in July, Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung has now also seen e-mails and other documents between, among others, Finance Minister Christian Lindner and Defense Minister Boris Pistorius.
The communication is about reducing the support from around 8 billion euros this year to 4 billion euros next year.
