The Svea Court of Appeal establishes a life sentence for a 20-year-old man for the murder of a man of the same age at a fast-food restaurant in Rågsved in southern Stockholm. The man is also convicted of attempted murder of nine other people, two of whom were hit by bullets.
It was in May last year that a lone perpetrator opened fire on a group of young men near a preschool. Two were hit by bullets, one of whom was paralyzed from the waist down.
The shooter then chased the others into a fast-food restaurant where one of them, a 20-year-old man, was shot dead from behind with multiple shots to the upper body.
The perpetrator and the victim were former friends, according to prosecutor Marika Hoppe.
