An invitation comes after the fact that the Social Democratic Party's foreign policy spokesperson Morgan Johansson directed harsh criticism at the government's Gaza policy, and said that the government "made a mockery of us in international contexts" by withdrawing support for the UN's aid organization for Palestinian refugees, Unrwa.
Johansson writes in a comment to TT that he looks forward to an invitation.
"But if the government really means to cooperate seriously, then they can already now decide to resume support for Unrwa, demand that the EU freeze the trade agreement with Israel and take measures to stop the settlers' goods on the Swedish market", he writes further.
Johansson said earlier on Wednesday that the Social Democratic Party wants to send supplies to the distressed population of Gaza with an international rescue fleet, and urged the government to initiate a discussion with other countries, preferably within the "coalition of the willing" that the UK has spoken of, to achieve such a rescue effort.
Johansson also said that much now suggests that what is happening in Gaza is a genocide.
