Despite a great game by Filip Gustavsson – 33 saves – in Minnesota's goal, Winnipeg's Kyle Connor managed to score the decisive goal after 51 seconds, in a numerical superiority.
Liam Öhgren, 20 years old, played his first NHL match for the season for Minnesota. He got no points in the protocol during the over 11 minutes he got on the ice. Last year, he played four matches.
Joel Eriksson Ek got his nose broken when his compatriot Adam Larsson in Seattle put an elbow in his face in the second period on Saturday, a match that Seattle then won on penalties.
On Tuesday, against St Louis, the Swede is expected to be back in again.
