The employees helped each other to clock in and out in a systematic way, according to an investigation conducted by the Västra Götaland Region.

As a result, they received payment for working hours without being present. Some also received compensation for inconvenient working hours.

The employer views it as a "systematic theft that is a serious breach of the employment contract", according to the written warnings the individuals received during the winter.

The whole thing was uncovered when one of the individuals told about it, and the information reached a manager. The region does not know how many hours are involved, as it is not possible to search for data older than three months in the system. However, according to conversations with the individuals who participated in the fraud, it has been going on for at least the whole of 2024.
