Daniel Ståhl is ready for tonight's EM final in Rome.
For the star's discus colleagues, the championship is over.
Swede, who took Olympic silver in Tokyo, has had trouble getting the throw over 65 meters lately, and at the qualifying round on the Olympic Stadium in the Italian capital Rome, he again threw modest distances.
With a throw of 61.43 meters, he did not reach the qualifying limit of 66 meters to qualify for the final tonight. The 30-year-old's chance to get there was to be one of the top 12 qualifiers – but that didn't work out either.
Medal throwing in the evening will be for Olympic champion Daniel Ståhl.
The 31-year-old did not reach the qualifying limit, but his meter was enough to finish among the top 12 in the qualifying round.
