The former Frölunda and Tre Kronor player Mats Lindh is dead, writes the SHL club on its website.

Lindh, from Orsa with Stackmora SK as his home club, made a total of 247 matches and 200 points for Frölunda during nine seasons and was involved in taking SM silver in 1980. The center also made 51 international matches for Sweden and was involved in taking two World Championship bronze, 1971 and 1975.

Outside the rink, Lindh educated himself to become a sports teacher and after his career was driving force in an ice hockey high school in Gothenburg where the future NHL stars Daniel Alfredsson and Per-Johan ”Pebben” Axelsson were some of Lindh's students.

Mats Lindh became 77 years old.

Corrected: In a previous version of this text, the incorrect SM medal value was stated for 1980. It should be silver.
