Crystal Palace has been relegated to Conference League by Uefa because the club's former owner John Textor is also the majority owner of Lyon, which has also qualified for the Europa League, which violates Uefa's ownership rules.

Palace claims that they "do not have any connection to any other club at all" and has appealed the decision to the sports arbitration court Cas. But Cas has followed Uefa's line.

In a statement, Crystal Palace now says that "this must be a turning point for football". The club criticizes Uefa, and Cas, for allowing "certain clubs, organizations and individuals to have unique privileges and power".

These clubs and organizations, according to Crystal Palace, "crush the fans' dreams".

The club also directs criticism at owners of other clubs who, they claim, use "charades" to hide that they own several clubs at the same time.

Palace concludes its statement by saying that they "are exploring the next step" while they intend to participate in Conference League.
