The elite player was sentenced in 2021 to a four-year ban from competition and training due to a breach of the match-fixing regulations. A ban that expired on February 2 this year. On January 14, barely three weeks before the ban was to expire, the player trained with a Swedish elite team, which is not permitted. The player is now banned for six weeks, from April 1 to May 12.
"In assessing the length of the ban, the disciplinary committee has taken into account that it is a minor offense," writes the Swedish Football Association's disciplinary committee in its decision.
The player was banned for match-fixing after being deemed to have deliberately received a yellow card in a football match in exchange for a loan of 300,000 kronor.
The decision from the disciplinary committee can be appealed to the National Sports Confederation (Rin).
